Zoomies Pet Services (“Zoomies,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides dog walking, in-home pet sitting, and half-day adventure services in the Charlottesville area. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information we collect

We may collect:

  • Contact and booking details you submit through our website contact form or by email/phone/text, such as your name, email address, phone number, pet names and care notes, service preferences, and message content.
  • Service-related information needed to provide care (for example access instructions, emergency contacts, veterinary info, and pet temperament notes you choose to share).
  • Photos and media you send us, or photos we take of pets during services when you have agreed to photography for updates or marketing (see Photography below).
  • Technical information collected automatically when you visit our site, such as browser type, device type, approximate location derived from IP address, pages viewed, and referral URLs. Our site is hosted on Squarespace, which may process this data on our behalf.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive payment card numbers through the website contact form. If you pay by another method (invoice, card link, cash, etc.), that payment processor’s privacy policy applies to card data.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to inquiries and schedule or deliver pet-care services
  • Communicate about bookings, updates, and service changes
  • Improve our website and services
  • Send service-related messages; and, where allowed, occasional updates about Zoomies (you can opt out of non-essential marketing messages)
  • Comply with law and protect the safety of pets, clients, and others

Squarespace and other processors

Our website is built and hosted on Squarespace. Squarespace may process form submissions, site analytics, cookies or similar technologies, and related technical data according to Squarespace’s own policies. We use Squarespace as a service provider to operate the site and receive contact-form messages.

We may also use standard email, phone, and messaging tools to communicate with you.

Cookies and analytics

Squarespace and related tools may use cookies or similar technologies for site operation, security, preferences, and analytics (for example to understand how visitors use the site). You can control cookies through your browser settings; some site features may not work if cookies are disabled.

Photography and gallery

Our website may include a photo gallery of pets and services. We only publish photos when we have permission from the client (or another lawful basis). If you want a photo of your pet removed from the site or social channels we control, email brandtw14@gmail.com and we will take reasonable steps to remove it promptly.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above—typically for active clients and a reasonable period afterward for scheduling history, safety notes, and business records—unless a longer period is required by law. Contact-form messages and related emails may be retained in our mailbox and Squarespace tools until deleted in the ordinary course of business.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate (such as Squarespace, email providers, or payment processors), under appropriate use limits
  • Professionals you authorize (for example a veterinarian) when needed for pet care
  • Authorities or others when required by law, or to protect safety and rights

Children’s privacy

Our services are for pet owners and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website.

Your choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you by emailing brandtw14@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. You may also ask us to stop non-essential marketing messages.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after updates means you accept the revised policy.
